I thought it was about time that I introduced you to our animals properly! We have so many and even as I’m writing this I am convinced I have forgotten a few… And I’m going to ignore the fact that Sadie has been featured in nearly every single blog post I’ve done so far….
Meg is a black labrador who is 13 years old and we’ve had her most of her life, originally belonging to my Aunt and Uncle, and she is possibly the greediest dog alive! Oh, and she loves cuddles and attention!
Heidi is another black lab and is about 10 years old. We got her from the RSPCA as a puppy as her one of her owners died and the other couldn’t cope with a puppy on their own. She loves walks, food, and doesn’t mind the odd cuddle either!
Sadie is our only Jack Russell and has just turned 4 this year! I needn’t say much more about this one because you already know so much! She isn’t as innocent as she looks though…
Rob, or Roberto as I like to call him, is my Grandparent’s golden lab and they live in one of the cottages. He is the cheekiest and silliest dog of them all!
Jack & Jill
Even though these two don’t live here, they might as well as it is practically their second home! I couldn’t not include them! Be warned though… Jack won’t say no to a biscuit!
So I’ve tried something a bit different for this post. I’ve written this for my Creative Writing Seminar. If you’ve read the previous posts in my blog you will know this is all based on true events, but I have embellished one in particular to fit with the task which was to write about transformation. For those of you who love to hear about Sadie, this is a post for you. Continue reading “Little Dog”
As always Easter time at Scotchy brings about lots of new little animals, including lambs, little piggies and this year we even had a duck! Obviously I had to take a selfie with it – I mean, who wouldn’t?! It was a stereotypical little yellow duckling which everyone fell in love with as soon as they saw it – again, who wouldn’t?! Unfortunately, there is a story.. and there’s no easy way to say this but, the duck is no more… Continue reading “EASTER.. and all the drama that comes with it!”
Just a few pictures of the snow we had a few weeks ago! Only two cars managed to get out – both 4x4s! All other cars where stuck at home for nearly a week! Well with the exception of my brother who was determined to beat Dad and get his little Corsa out. So what did he do? Well he reversed up our 1/2 mile drive didn’t he! Congrats to him though because he did it! The upside to being practically snowed in is that I got some amazing pictures with the snow and the dogs! Including the masterpiece which is Sadie and Jack jumping up for a snowball! Continue reading “SNOW”
We’ve had a lot going on again at Scotchcoulthard, what with the masses of snow that interrupted a week of our lives, Sadie getting up to more mischief – she’s going through a ‘throw and fetch’ stage and has proved to be better at it than the labs! We’ve also just about finished decorating Hawthorn cottage with an extra bedroom and bathroom! Although the most exciting event at Scotchy happened last Wednesday… Continue reading “New Arrivals!”
I know this post is slightly late as New Years Day was 14 days ago but it’s been so busy here at Scotchy, this is the first chance I’ve had to write! Today we’ve had the first proper snow this year! Well, technically we had it on Saturday but that didn’t count. Today we woke up to white all around, with no sign of the ground. Continue reading “Happy New Year!”
In January 2013 we acquired a little Jack Russell who we named Sadie. It’s over 4 years later and she has made herself very much part of our lives. In fact I can’t imagine life without that little dog now! We have actually decided that she is not only the face of Scotchcoulthard, but that she isn’t really a Jack Russell at all! She’s been brought up as a Labrador / cat / human baby and she definitely has traits of all of those! Continue reading “Sadie: The Magic Miracle”
